We are delighted to announce that Sir Peter Roth upon his retirement from the High Court will deliver this year’s lecture: “The Private Enforcement of Competition Law: Reflections upon its development, progress, and challenges”.

Sir Peter Roth recently retired after 16 years as a judge of the High Court, sitting in the Chancery Division. Between 2013-2021 he was President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal, and he returned as Acting President for 8 months in 2024-25. Sir Peter continues to sit as a part-time Chair in the CAT.

In 2021-22, Sir Peter served as President of the Association of European Competition Law Judges. Prior to becoming a judge, he was chair of the CLA from 2002-2009.

Sir Peter is also chair of the trustees of the Alliance for Lawyers at Risk, a charity supporting human rights lawyers at personal risk for their work in various parts of the world.

Registration will open at 6.15 pm
Lecture will begin promptly at 6.30 pm in the Large Pension Room
Drinks Reception and Dinner from 7.30 pm
Dinner will take place in the Main Hall and the event will conclude at approx. 10.30 pm
