The use of behavioural economics in competition cases is increasing. Both in private litigation (in cases like Le Patourel v BT and Which? v Apple (icloud)), and in the context of the DMA/DMCCA, patterns of consumer behaviour are key. Join us to hear experts Rajesh Bhargave and Jack Williams discuss what behavioural economics is and how it is being and might be used in competition litigation.
Dr Rajesh Bhargave is Associate Professor of Marketing at Imperial College London. Dr Bhargave researches and teaches on behavioural economics, consumer behaviour, psychology and decision-making. He has served as a behavioural economics expert in legal cases in the UK and US. He is affiliated with Cornerstone Research.
Jack Williams is a barrister at Monckton Chambers. He has a particular expertise in respect of the regulation of digital markets. He is also amongst the most active counsel in UK competition law collective proceedings (both for class representatives and defendants), including acting in cases such as Le Patourel v BT; Merricks v Mastercard; Epic, Coll & Rodger v Google; and Which? v Apple (icloud).
The session will be followed by drinks and canapés.
